The notion of Africa as a pre-historic Utopia left its mark on me, a former inhabitant, and continues to remain in my idealized world of the imagination. So it was with this belief that I encouraged my husband to travel with me to Botswana. Having grown up in Zimbabwe and Zambia, I was accustomed to Africa’s unpretentious and at times nomadic customs, and that is what took me back 12 years later, my love for its simplicity and freedom that I had grown up with in the bush.
